Barça to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
