Pat Bamford Joins the Blades Despite Leading Abusive Chants Targeting Manager Wilder

The striker has joined the Championship side only half a year following instigating derogatory chants directed at the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, a free agent since leaving Leeds, has agreed to a deal joining the second-tier club in difficulty through the winter. Bamford's seven-year spell at Elland Road was ended by mutual consent in August.

Reconciliation & Looking Ahead

Everything seems to have been resolved with United, the league's least productive attack, urgently requiring of improvement up front and Bamford looking to rejuvenate his playing days.

The song about Wilder spread widely this spring. A repentant Bamford along with Leeds boss, Farke, called the Sheffield United manager the following day.

Wilder stated back then: “Had a conversation with Patrick yesterday and I have no issue at all with it. I'm uncertain about the language from a fellow pro! However I appreciated and respected him giving me a call.

“We spent a short while and the same again I spoke to Daniel too and we had a longer discussion with him and he's a super guy, a top guy. Back in my playing days we used to give it and take it and that’s an integral part of the game across all levels, even on Sunday league. I've got no problem at all. I'm fine with the situation and I told him that to Patrick.”
