Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance

Young golfer getting ready for significant tournament

This young athlete boasts impressive social media presence

Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile supporters as she begins her professional golf debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns numerous international courses and regularly plays against Kai.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa basically suggested to compete and relax," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him rather occupied."

As an amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA listings.

However she can get advice from golf legend, in a relationship with Kai's mother.

"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He told me to compete, have fun, adapting to the flow."

The golfer will compete against some of the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Tournament organizers stated that her participation helps introduce golf to different demographics, especially among youth audiences.

Kai boasts millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
